...The Byelorussian language adapted the German words to its own phonetic system. The fact that a good number of these German loan-words still remain in modern Byelorussian is evidence that they are now completely integrated into the language.

Two very interesting works of late 16th and 17th century Byelorussian are quite similar in character and embrace roughly the same period of time... They are the Chronicle of Barkulabava and the Memoirs of Jeulesheuski, Assessor of Navahrodak...
