The estate of Lachwa, in southern Byelorussia (Polesie),
was one of the largest private estates in that part of the Grand Duchy
of Lithuania. On the basis of a number of documents ... it is possible
to reconstruct the early composition of the estate, and its location on
the administrative map of the Grand Duchy. Finally, the surviving
documents
make it possible to comment on the general character of the economy of
the Lachwa estate.
